Nestled into the dark green pine forest of the Adirondacks and on the shores of the sparkling Blue Mountain Lake is Hemlock Hall, a perfect family retreat that feels millions of miles from the rigors of daily life.
The rustic main lodge, built in 1890, charms with cedar and pine-paneled common rooms, a massive granite fireplace that opens into three rooms, and a large wooden table flanked by rustic twig chairs. Upon entering the Lodge you can't help but enjoy the aroma of the freshly baked bread. From the wrap-around porch or from the interior window seats, you can view the surrounding lake and woods in all their glory. In spring, blossoms fill the air with fragrance while nearby lakes and streams overflow with freshly melted snow. Summer is the busy season as the lake entertains swimmers, boaters, and fishermen, while hikers take to trails in nearby woods. In fall, surrounding foliage bursts with fiery color as the forest prepares for the onslaught of winter.
Anytime of the year when the dinner bell rings, guests gather in the dining room for a delicious home-style meal of chicken and biscuits, roast pork, corned beef, or a full turkey dinner, prepared by owners Paul and Susan Provost. Dinner is always a fun, convivial event, as it was when Paul visited here as a child with his family and decided that someday he would like to own Hemlock Hall.
The guestrooms are decorated in an easy-going rustic decor with a Victorian flair. Original French diamond-paneled leaded windows overlook the surrounding area, letting in the sounds of the nearby brook. The fourteen cottage units-with one to several bedrooms, and fireplaces-are perfect for families with kids.
If you'd like to experience a perfect lakeside retreat with crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery, come to Hemlock Hall. It's all right here waiting for you.
